Marilyn Manson cuyo nombre real es Brian Warner, elijió dicho sobrenombre dado que corresponde a la fusión entre la actriz Marilyn Monroe y el asesino Charles Manson, a través de lo cual se quiere representar la dualidad entre el bien y el mal, entre los extremos del glamour y belleza de Marilyn Monroe y la brutalidad y oscuridad de Charles Manson.

Marilyn Manson surge en 1989 como una banda de Hard Rock, que ha ganado miles de seguidores, tanto por su música, como por el estilo de vida de Brian Warner.
